Solana Beach

A coastal community known for its shopping, art galleries and boutiques, furniture shops and surfing outfitters.

Welcome to Solana Beach

Solana Beach is a coastal community of about 3.6 square miles south of Cardiff-by-the-Sea and north of the City of Del Mar. The city is known for its shopping, art galleries and boutiques, furniture shops and surfing outfitters. The Cedros Design District is located in Solana Beach and consists of more than 85 galleries, antique stores, boutiques and cafes. The Design District is also home to the weekly Solana Beach Farmers’ Market, which offers locally grown organic produce and vegetables and fresh-cut flowers.

About 13,000 residents call Solana Beach home and take advantage of the city’s three small beaches; Fletcher Cove, Tide Beach Park and Seascape Shores. Due to crashing waves, the beaches serve surfers and body surfers better than those looking to sunbathe or relax on the sand. In 2003 the city gained national recognition for its’ ban of smoking on public beaches, the first city in the continental United States to do so.

A large train station serving both Amtrak and the Coaster is located in SB, one of only three such stations in San Diego County. The Solana Beach School District and the San Dieguito Union High School District serve Solana Beach’s school system.

It’s hard to beat Solana Beach weather; winters average a temperature of 62 degrees with summers averaging about 77 degrees. Most days you can find a handful of locals stopping by award-winning Fletcher Cove Park to catch the area’s regular beautiful sunsets. A unique and supportive community for small business owners, family-friendly environment, great schools and beautiful scenery, Solana Beach is a great place to call home.
